m/o Donald Arthur "Hugh" Pates, Michael Lee Pates, and Richard Edmund Pates
Lenora was the oldest of six children born to Arthur Corrigan and Johanna Sexton. Her youth was blessed with a warm family environment in the Irish section of St. Paul's Rice Street. She graduated from Washington High School, completed the course of St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing and fulfilled the requirements to become a Registered Nurse.
She was introduced to Don Pates by a mutual friend; the encounter blossomed into a loving relationship of 58 years of marriage. They had three sons (see above) and three grandchildren.
Lenora dedicated her adult life to family as a loyal wife and warm, caring mother, as well as to the profession of nursing which she cherished. She served at St. Joseph's Hospital, Miller Hospital, St. Thomas College and High School, Bethany Convent and her beloved Little Sisters of the Poor.
In the last few years, Lenora's decline of health provided the privilege for her to be ministered by the Sisters, Staff and community of the Holy Family Residence of the Little Sisters of the Poor.
