My Royal Dutch Marines Buddy,Herman van MAASACKER was born November 12th.1932 in HOLLAND.
From 1952-1954 Herman served proudly in the ROYAL DUTCH MARINE CORPS.
June 3th.1952 was the first day that Herman started the basic training as young Marine in The Royal Dutch Marines Barracks"Kamp Woestduin"in DOORN-HOLLAND.
Drill Sergeant of Militie(Platoon)13 was Sergeant Royal Marines,John KUIT,assisted by Corporal Daan SINJOU.
The Memorial of Drill SERGEANT John KUIT you can find in my List with INTERMENTS.
In Civil Life Herman worked for the National Mail/Telephone Company.
He enjoyed life,liked a good glass of wine and supported Sports like Volleyball.
Herman died April 18th.1988.
After a Service hold in the Roman-Catholic Church" St.Martinus"in CUYK-HOLLAND was Herman buried on the Roman Catholic Cemetery.
ONCE A MARINE...ALWAYS A MARINE! QUA PATET ORBIS!
Rest in Peace Herman. You are NOT Forgotten!
