DARDANELLE — Leverne Christy, 78, husband of Mary Elizabeth Stirman Christy, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009.
Born in Dardanelle, he was the son of the late Roy and Gertrude Miller Christy. He was a retired nuclear engineer at Charleston Naval Shipyards and a member of Essex Village Church of Christ.
Survivors in addition to his wife are two daughters, Kim Fitzgerald and husband, Paul, and Lori Leslie and husband, Tony, all of Greenville, S.C.; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Ann Gooch of Russellvillel and Myrtle Mae Aaron of Memphis, Tenn.; and two brothers, Lionel Christy of Dardanelle and Bill Christy of Harkey's Valley.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, at Dardanelle Church of Christ. Burial will be in Brearley Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Mickey Christy, Terry Christy, Mark Cheatham, Dustin Cheatham, Aubrey Bell and Elbert McConnell.
