Teresa Stroup, age 57, passed from this life on Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, in Denver City.

Mrs. Stroup was born in Denver City March 18, 1953, to Robert and Patsy Hill. She was a lifetime resident of Plains. She married Carl Stroup Aug. 28, 1978, in Lovington, N.M. Teresa had been a member of the Yoakum County Art Association and was a member of Plains Church of Christ.

Her family will remember her as a strong willed person and a very selfless woman who put everyone before herself. Her love was for her grandchildren, art, animals and a huge garden. She could raise some of the hottest peppers around.

Those left to cherish her memories include her husband, Carl of the home; one son, Anthony Lynn and his wife Jessica Day of Arlington; two daughters, Jennifer D'Shawn Mize and husband Jeff and Susan Stroup, both of Lubbock; and one sister, Sonya Kay Smyth and husband Robert of Albuquerque, N.M. She also left five grandchildren and two nieces, Jessica Clauss and Lacey Smyth.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Kathy Jo.
