"Jorgine (Georgine) Lien was born Dec. 14, 1865 on the Lia/Lien farm in Skatval, Stordalen, Nord Tronlag, Norway. Her parents were Erik Lia/Lien and Anne Henrikk Skordal who settled in MN first then in ND. Jorgine's parents are buried near my home in SD. I have seen their graves. According to family, someone on the Lien side went out to CA and placed the grave marker.
"On April 4, 1888 Jørgine Lien got on a ship for San Francisco along with a Beret (might of become Bertha Hammer) and a 16 year old Randi Hammer who just could be Rose along with a Peder Lund age 39--all going to San Francisco on the same ship! The Hammer surname was the name of the farm in Norway--Hvidhammer!"
