Moddie Casselman Kirton McDaniel, 87, died Thursday, May 2, 1996, in a Myrtle Beach, SC, hospital.

Mrs. McDaniel was born in Georgetown County, a daughter of George Wilkes Casselman and Mary Leila McGee Casselman.

She had been married to the late Herbert Henry Kirton and was the widow of Beauford McDaniel.

She was survived by a son, Durant S. Kirton of Andrews; three daughters, Hessie Mae K. Gibson of Florence, Vincent K. Casselman of Andrews, and Allene K. Coates of Georgetown; a stepson, Samuel McDaniel of Kill Devil Hills, NC; four stepdaughters, Leila Altman of Marion, Frances Cox of Hemingway, Essie Thompson of Aiken, and Kathy McDaniel of Merry Hill, N. C.; a sister, Mazie Moore of Andrews; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.

Funeral services were Saturday, May 4, 1996, in Happy Home Free Will Baptist Church, of which she was an active member. Burial, directed by Mayer Funeral Home, followed in Piney Forest Cemetery.
