--Son of Civil War veteran John Marshall Sudderth & wife Mary Olivia Wakefield Suddreth
--Worked as a Night watchman at a Lenoir mill, then transferred to Hoskins (Mecklenburg County, NC) between 1900 and 1905, and by 1906 was living in the mill village of North Charlotte.
--Occupation: primarily Textile worker. After moving to Charlotte in 1906, he worked as a house carpenter. He was the night watchman at the Mecklenburg Mill in North Charlotte near the time of his death.
--Married Mary E. Laney on December 13, 1877 in Lenoir, NC; 7 children: Lloyd Nixon, Gertrude Frances, John Wesley, William Albert, Mary Essie, Amelia Etta, and Mattie Olivia Suddreth.
--Attended Spencer Memorial Methodist Church, but his funeral was performed by the Rev. C.C. Myers of North Charlotte Presbyterian Church.
--Member of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics.
--Died at 62 years old of heart trouble.
--Survived by 6 children: Mrs. D.C. Staton of Monroe, Mrs. J.E. Brauda of Charleston, SC, Mrs. C.W. Randall of Charlotte, L.N. Suddreth, W.A. Suddreth, and J.W. Suddreth all of Charlotte. Survived in addition by 10 grandchildren.
--Survived by 3 brothers: Anderson Toliver Suddreth, John Lloyd Suddreth, and Julius Abraham Suddreth (all of Lenoir) and 2 sisters: Nancy Olivia Suddreth of Lenoir and Etta Deibler of Manhattan, Kansas.
--Survived also by his father, John Marshall Sudderth of Lenoir, he being nearly 90 years old.
