Zauvaer Seloian Alexanian 97 of Providence, died Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at Flushing Hospital, Flushing, NY. She was the wife of the late Misak Alexanian.

Born in Armenia, she came to the U.S. in 1931 settling in Providence, moving to Flushing in 2002.

She was co-owner with her husband of the former Gaspee Restaurant in Providence for many years, before retiring.

Mrs. Alexanian was a survivor of the Armenian Genocide of 1915.

She was a member of Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church and a past member of its Ladies Guild. She was a member of the Armenian General Benevolent Union.

She is survived by a niece, Shake Kalfayan of Bridgeport, CT, and was the sister of the late Nevart Donabedian.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Monday at 11 a.m. in Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, followed by interment in North Burial Ground Cemetery, Providence. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Church, 70 Jefferson St., Providence, RI 02908.
