MRS. ALBERT COMFORT
Agnes Chayer, youngest daughter of Clement and Melina Chayer, was born in Kankakee, Illinois on March 6, 1873, and departed this life January 17, 1953 at the St. Joseph's hospital in Concordia, Kansas, having reached the age of 79 years, 10 months and 11 days. She came to Kansas with her parents, one brother and five sisters, as a child, growing to womanhood in the Iwacura community, where she was converted and later took an active part in Christan work. She later moved to the Mt. Liberty community.
She was united in marriage with Albert Comfort March 17, 1909 at Minneapolis, Kansas. They began housekeeping on their farm in Sherman township, Ottawa County, Kansas, living there all their married life. Two daughters, Mildred and Mabel came to bless their home.
The husband passed away at the home March 21, 1946. Some time later she moved to Miltonvale, making her home with her sister-in-law, Mrs. Eustina Comfort.
Agnes was a faithful wife, a kind and loving mother and a good neighbor, always upholding high ideals. Her grandchildren brought her much pleasure in her later years.
She leaves to mourn their loss her daughters, Mrs. Floyd Rudy, of Platteville, Colo.; Mrs. Kenneth Trickle, of Lamar, Kans.; two sons-in-law, Floyd Rudy and Kenneth Trickle; the grandchildren: Harold Wayne, Ferne, and Letha Rudy; Kenneth Jr., Shirley, Ray Lee and Betty Joann Trickle; one brother, John Chayer of Rogersville, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
The funeral services were held at Mt. Liberty E.U.B. church at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20. Rev. Vincent Rutherford conducted the services. Interment was made in Mt. Liberty cemetery.
