Gladys Willingham Nabors Gladys Willingham Nabors, age 83, of 819 Sunset Blvd. died Sunday, September 6, 2009 at Hospice House of Laurens County. She was born in Newberry and was the daughter of the late Elzie J. and Lossie T. Willingham. Mrs. Nabors was a graduate of Clinton High School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from Winthrop College in 1946. She taught Public School music and private music lesson in the home and taught at Joanna, Gilbert, Clinton Elementary, Whitten Center, Florida Street and Bell Street schools. She was a member of the Joanna First Baptist Church where she was the organist for more than 60 years. She was also a member of the Loose Threads Quilt Guild and the Frances Watson Circle. She is survived by her husband, Roy Carson Nabors of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis A. and Angelia Nabors of Joanna and David C. and Ronna Nabors of Clinton; a daughter and son-in-law, Dale N. and Lin Hamilton of York; a brother, Richard Willingham of Joanna; a sister, Barbara W. Prater of Joanna; 6 grandchildren, Wade Tumblin, Brett Hamilton, Nicole Suber, Nolan Nabors, Hunter Nabors and Carsyn Nabors; 4 great grandchildren, Kailey Suber, Colby Suber, Bailey Tumblin and Carlee Nabors. She was predeceased by a brother, Harold Willingham. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. in the Joanna First Baptist Church sanctuary with interment in the Rosemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church.
