Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 12, at the Lacock Funeral Home in Durant, with Rev. Leland Eyres officiating. Pallbearers are Emil Reese, Fred Gruemmer, Lester Maxwell and Reynold Dahms. Burial will be in the Durant Cemetery, Durant, Iowa.
Augusta Margaret Gruemmer was born September 11, 1895, in Cedar County, the daughter of Gustav and Mary (Thede) Gruemmer. She received her education in the Cedar County schools. She married Harry William Petersen on September 10, 1919, in Muscatine. The couple farmed near Durant, until they retired. Harry preceded her in death on December 6, 1981. She was employed as a dental assistant for Dr. Teasdale in Wilton, until she retired.
She is survivied by seveal nieces and nephews and one brother-in-law, Reynold Dahms of Muscatine.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son in infancy, one sister, Dorothy Dahms and five brothers, Walter, Clarence and Orvan Gruemmer and two brothers in infancy.
