Married Seventy-two Years.
Mrs. Rachel Bruner, wife of Rev. David Bruner of the Baptist church, died at her home five miles from Mackville, Friday morning, at the ripe old age of 92 years. Funeral services were conducted Saturday by Rev. Sommers, the interment taking place in the family grave yard, and was attended by an unusually large crowd. Her husband., aged 91, to whom she was united in marriage 72 years ago, survives her. Ten children blessed their union, three sons and two daughters still surviving. There are 40 grand children, 40 great grand children and one great, great grand child. Rev. Bruner has been preaching since he was seventeen years of age, and during his ministry has married over 3,000 couples, baptized nearly 5,000 converts and preached over 4,000 funerals. Thousands of people in Mercer, Washington, Boyle, Anderson and other counties, whose joys and sorrows this venerable man of God has alike shared, mourn with him in the loss of his helpmate, who has assisted him in good deeds for nearly three quarters of a century.
