As a young woman during the Depression years, she moved to Washington, DC, to work for the federal government, where she spent most of her career at the U.S. Patent Office. She retired from the patent Office in 1976 as the secretary to the solicitor. She then worked part-time for the National Academy of Sciences for several years. She moved to Black Mountain in 1991.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, James B. Robinson; her son and daughter in-law, Barry and Susan Robinson of Black Mountain; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Brigman's Funeral Service in Black Mountain with a private burial service at Mountain View Memorial Park.
