Roy Carpenter, 82, of St. Marys and formerly of Parkersburg, died Aug. 22 at the residence of his daughter in St. Marys.
He was born in Sistersville to the late Frank and Anna Carpenter. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He had been employed by Corning Glass.
Surviving are two daughters, Donna Owens of St. Marys and Diane Johnson of Parkersburg; three sisters, Mabel Baukind of Sunland, CA, Ellen Boso of Columbus and Margaret Lawrentz of Parkersburg; five
grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenna Gail Scott Carpenter.
Services were Saturday at Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg. Burial was in Big Tygart Cemetery.
