Mrs. Parmelia Carey Riley was born in 1842 and died May 20, aged 86 years. Early in life she united with the Glen's Creek church and later transferred her membership to Bruner's chapel. She was united in marriage to James Riley, December 29, 1867. He died about fifteen years ago. To their union were born five children, three of whom survive; J. W. Riley, Harrodsburg; J. D. Riley, Illinois, and L. L. Riley, of Florida. She also leaves 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Mrs. Riley had been ill since she broke her hip in a fall some months ago. She was greatly loved and respected by all who knew her, being a woman of many noble traits of character.
