Born c. August 20, 1717, Elizabeth Crane had reached her 19th birthday just 12 days prior to her death. She was the wife of Amos Crane. Her gravestone features a portrait-style soul effigy in its tympanum, unlike the death's head more typical of the 1730's. This choice, along with the floral carvings in the stone, may have been inspired by Mrs. Crane's youth.
