She was born Monday, Dec. 25, 1922, in Bryan County to Allie Monroe Powell and Grace Lee (Slaten). She married Bradley O. Martin May 1, 1941, in Durant. She was a lifelong Bryan County resident and a member of the Utica Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter-in-law Gail Martin, brothers Cloyce Powell and Ed Powell and sister-in-law Thelma Powell.
She is survived by son David Martin, Idabel; daughter Brenda Metts and husband Marvin, Durant; grandchildren John and Jill Martin, Garvin, Jeff and Stephanie Metts, Durant, Michelle and Robert Chance, Idabel; great-grandchildren Mike, Ashton and Emilee Martin, Garvin, Michaela and Jonathan Metts, Durant, Page Chance, Broken Bow, Bradley Robertson and Aaron and Cassandra Martin, Idabel; sisters Mary Loftis, Durant, Jeanie Wood and husband Norman, Sugar Land, Texas; brother Allen Powell and wife Joan, Durant; sister-in-law Maridell Powell, Durant; and special niece Rhonda Iversen.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Family hour will be from 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
