Israel Trammell is buried in an overgrown, neglected cemetery with many unmarked graves, only six having fieldstones.

Israel's marker reads:

Israel Trammell
aged 77 years

"Loved in life, remembered in death."

Foot stone reads: "I.T."

According to Fairfax County, VA Marriage Records and the 1880 Census, he was married to Clarissa "last surname unknown."

Israel is found on the Fairfax County, Virginia 1850 Slave Schedule as a white owner, and the 1860.1870, and 1880 Federal Censuses.

The 1870 Providence Township, Fairfax County, Virginia Census had the following children listed:

Benjamin, Mildred, Virginia, Frances, Isabella, Reuben, and Zollicoffer. (Later records indicate Isabella was known as Bell, Zollicoffer was known as Zella C., and Virginia was known as Jennie.)

In 1880, he is listed as a white, male, farmer with a wife named Clarissa. Also listed were children: Francis, Jennie, Reuben B., and Zella.

Reviewing later marriage records of his children finds an additional child named Bell Trammell.

Children's marriages:

Isabella "Bell" Trammell married Oscar Adams on 11 Apr 1877 in Fairfax, Virginia. (It does not state whether city or county of Fairfax.) The groom was the son of Charles W. Adams and wife Adaline.

Zollicoffer "Zella C." Trammell married Samuel J. Trammell on 29 Dec 1881 at Hunters Mill, Fairfax County, Virginia. Groom was the son of John and Jane Trammell.

Frances Anderilly Trammell married Franklin Markers on 18 Sep 1906 at Vienna, Virginia. Groom was the son of Johnson and Susan Markers. (Israel, the bride's father, is deceased at time of this wedding.)

Note from contributor: I believe the field stones and unmarked graves in this cemetery belong to the above named wife, children, spouses and grandchildren of Israel Trammell. BB 2010Husband of Clarissa Ann (Lanham) Trammell. Together they had the following children:

- James Douglas Trammell
- Lewis Benjamin Trammell
- Margaret Sarah Walker
- Mildred Harris Wells
- Martha Virginia Moore
- Frances A. Marker
- Isabella McGuire
- Reuben Beverly Trammell
- Zella Coffer Trammell
