Samuel Craig Schrecengost, 72 of Rose Valley, died at his home September 24, 1950.
Sam was the youngest son of Benjamin and Harriet (King) Schrecengost, he was born April 22, 1878, at home in Rose Valley, Cowanshannock Township.
Sam worked on the family farm his whole life but also went out west for four years working at logging and worked with the thrashers. He also worked in the coal mines, drilling gas wells, was a fireman on the steam engines for the local railroad company. Sam also worked with the group of men who built the NuMine Tipple about 1908.
Sam is survived by his wife, Edith E. (Waltenbaugh) Schrecengost who he married in 1904, daughter Twila M. Boggen, son Merle J. Schrecengost of Rose Valley, daughter Harriet C. Goldstrohm of Cowanshannock Township, and son Lee Schrecengost Ellsworth.
Sam was buried at Salem United Church of Christ Cemetery.
