I grew up in Rural Valley, Armstrong County Pa. and my family roots run deep in Indiana and Armstrong county. I've been interested in my family history since 2014 and found that my grandparents had a large collection of old photos, documents and other priceless artifacts. I've been sharing these images on Find-A-Grave and https://www.ruralvalleyhistory.com/ and hope that others can enjoy seeing them. I believe that history is being lost every day and I can do my part to help preserve my ancestors' memory and others along the way.

Since 2015, I've been working with the Saltsburg community to help restore their abandoned cemetery called the "Old Saltsburg Cemetery". This is a community funded project that has been going on for over seven years and will take many more to complete. The cemetery ID is # 2303856

In 2021, I was contacted by Ancestry and interviewed about my involvement with the restoring of this old cemetery. Ancestry wrote a story about it and it can be read at

Since 2018, I've been a Google guide, adding cemeteries to Google Maps. If you have the time, start adding your local cemeteries to Google Maps and add some photos too. Adding cemeteries to Google Maps makes it easier for people to find these old and sometimes forgotten cemeteries.
