Peter of France was the youngest son of Louis VI of France and his second Queen consort Adélaide de Savoy. He was the father of the Latin Emperor Peter II of Courtenay.
Peter was born in France on September 1126 and died 10 April 1183 in Palestine. He married Elizabeth de Courtenay, who was born 1127 and died Sept. 1205 and the daughter of Renauld de Courtenay and Hawise du Donjon. His tomb is Exeter Cathedral in England
