MARIMON
Death of Mrs. Mary Marimon.
Mrs. Mary Stevenson Marimon, relict of J. D. Marimon, peacefully departed this life, of old age, at her late home on Lexington street, this city, Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock, aged 90 years, 5 months and 6 days. Hers was a long and useful life, filled with good deeds, kind words and christian graces. She was born at New Town, now Pocamole City, Maryland, of Robert and Edith Stevenson and came with them to Kentucky when but a child. Her young womanhood was spent in Lexington where she was married to J. D. Marimon, January 17, 1827, and they lived happily together for almost seventy years, he being called hence September 5, 1896. Of this union sprung five children - T. S. Marimon, of blessed memory, who passed to his reward September 11, 1896; Eliza Jane, relict of J. C. Ewing; Susan Logan, relict of A. O. Robards; Sarah Elizabeth and Mary Ann who died in infancy. Mrs. Robards and Miss Elizabeth lived with their mother and made her last days as pleasant and free from pain as was possible. The deceased had been a zealous member of the Presbyterian church for 73 years and adherent of that faith for 53 years in Harrodsburg, where she had resided continuously for that period of time. She was ever active in church work, and was remarkable for her kindness, patience and charity towards all mankind. A mother in Israel has fallen and those who knew her best will cherish her memory and strive to emulate her example. Among these are: Six grand children- Mrs. Silas McDonald and Mrs. S. H. Smith, of St. Joseph, Mo., Mr. Frank Marimon, of Cincinnati, O., Messrs. R. L. and T. S. Marimon and W. T. Ewing of this city - and many great-grand children.
Funeral services, conducted by her pastor, Rev. J. G. Hunter, will be held, this morning, at 10 o'clock, at her late residence on Lexington street, and interment will take place in Spring Hill Cemetery.
