Her death followed two light paralytic strokes, the first of which was three weeks ago. Surviving is her son, Sidney E Meyer. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon.
Mrs. Meyer, apparently in good health, suffered a stroke on March 25, but rallied and was about her household work for a short time and was a dinner guest in the home of her son Easter Sunday. She suffered another stroke again rallied, but Friday evening she passed into a state of coma from which she failed to recover. Her death occurred at 5:15 a.m. Sunday.
Anna Meyer was born June 7, 1867, at Belle Plaine, IA, and came to Remsen in 1881 with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Wentz. Mr. and Mrs. Meyer built the home which the widow occupied until her death, and shared many years of happiness until Mr. Meyer passed away June 11, 1911.
Mrs. Meyer was a staunch member of the St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran church, a woman of strong Christian character and beloved by all who knew her.
Besides her only son, Sidney B., the deceased woman is survived by two grandchildren, Milton E. Meyer of Sioux City, IA and Robert E. Meyer of Remsen, and a great grandson, Michael Eugene Meyer of Sioux City. A nephew Frank E. Wentz of Remsen, a niece Mrs. George Meierstein of Sioux City.
