Bernice Cristol Selman, Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on July 21, 2010. Bernice lived in Tyler for about 60 years, where she dedicated her time and efforts to many organizations. Bernice was a past president of the League of Women Voter's, founder of the Book Fair of Tyler, member of East Texas Symphony Association, Smith County Medical Society and Temple Beth El Sisterhood. She enjoyed giving of her time to others. Bernice is survived by her husband of 69 years, Dr. Joseph Selman; children, Jay Selman & wife Patty Patinka, Susan & Thomas Hannan, Michael & Sachiko Selman and Thomas and Miriam Selman; grandchildren, Jeremy, Ari, Nathaniel and Alisa Selman and Jessica & Nathan Franco; great grandson, Shmuel Franco and brothers, Charles & Gerry Cristol and David & Rachael Cristol. Graveside services were held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tyler. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bernice's name may be made to the East Texas Symphony Association or the Temple Beth El Sisterhood.
