BOGATA — Jess P. Cothren, 79, of Bogata, died suddenly at his residence Sunday at 4 p.m.
He was a retired carpenter. He was a veteran of World War I and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bogata.
He was born June 3, 1895 in Arkansas, son of Lige D. and Calley Evans Cothren. He married the former Clara Wright on Nov. 23,1924 in Nathan, Ark.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Bogata with the Rev. Dickie Golden officiating. Burial will be in Bogata Cemetery, under direction of Bogata Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Clara of Bogata; two daughters, Mrs. Sue Wicker of New Boston and Mrs. Odell Nolen of Bisbee, Ariz.; three half-sisters, and one half-brother; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
