From a family file at Lamar County Genealogy Society. Bogata - 'Clara Eve Cothren, 81, formerly of Bogata, died at 2 a. m. Saturday, June 27, at Wadley Hospital, Texarkana. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 29, at the Bogata United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bob Posey officiating. Burial will be in Bogata Cemetery by Bogata Funeral Home. Mrs. Cothren was born Aug. 17, 1905, in Murfreesboro, Ark., a daughter of DAVE and BELLE FLEMING WRIGHT. She married Jess Cothren on Nov 23, 1924. He died Jan 5, 1975. Surviving are two daughters, Sue Wicker of New Boston and Mrs. Odell Nolen of Carlsbad, N.M.; two sisters, Letha Harris of New Boston and Verna Tribble of Nashville, Ark.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Wayne Cothren and an infant son, Jess Cothren Jr. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:00 a. m. Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jessie Gray, Lewis Wilkerson, Raymond Mauldin, Jack Couch, Altus Denny, and James Wood'.
