WEAVERVILLE – Lois G. Hunter, age 86, of Rice Cove Road, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008.
Mrs. Hunter was born September 23, 1921 in Madison County and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life.
She previously worked as a seamstress with Hadley Corp. of Weaverville. She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Lona Revis Gentry. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Eddie Crowder and granddaughter, Yvonne Burrell.
Surviving is her husband of 67 years, Paul W. Hunter; daughter, Shirley Crowder of Weaverville; sister, Juanita Spencer of Marion; brother, Walter Gentry of Virginia; grandchildren, Lisa Bass of Weaverville and Kevin Crowder of Weaverville; four great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
Services will be held 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville with the Rev.'s Ronnie Gentry and Larry Gentry officiating. Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
At other times the family will be at the residence.
