From Julie Barwick's Hartigan file: "Occ: Road Overseer, Barry Co., MO; Burial: Price Cem., Oklahoma Territory. Mary was born in Missouri c. 1837. Around 1859, John moved his family to Crawford County, Arkansas. He enlisted in the 1st Regt. Arkansas Calvary. After serving in the calvary, he moved back to Missouri. The family settled in Barry County, McDonald Township. The Sparks Church was built on his land. Around 1890 he moved to what was then the Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory. It is now Tahlequah, Oklahoma."
