Doctor Adolph Schlernitzauer, one of Southern Illinois well known and prominent physicians, died at his home in Millstadt Thursday afternoon, and was buried at Belleville Sunday afternoon. He was born in Germany in 1837, and came to America in 1839 with his parents. He as married to Miss Mary Bell who died, and in 1878 was again married to Miss Mary Palmer of Jonesville, Wis. He had four children. His son Dr. William Schlernitzauer is a physician and resides at Freeburg, and one of his daughters is married to Mr. S.A. Becker of Belleville. He was held in high esteem at Millstadt and was always ready to help the afflicted. He resided there for over thirty-eight years. He was buried in Walnut Hill cemetery.
