Fred Thompson, 66, of Fornfelt Passes Away

Fornfelt – Fred Thompson, 66 years old, died this morning at his home here. He had been in failing health several months.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete pending arrival of relatives. The body is at the Bisplinghof Funeral Home in Illmo.
Mr. Thompson was born Jan. 26, 1887 at Gordonville, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Thompson. He was married Jan. 3, 1909, to Miss Lulu Harmon of Gordonville. In 1933, they moved to Fornfelt from Allenville. He was employed at the Federal Materials Co. in Cape Girardeau, where he was working at the time he became ill.
He is survived by his wife; six sons, Walter of Cape Girardeau, Ollie of Ogallala, Neb., Merrill of Longtown, Nathan of Jackson, Lois and Harold of Fornfelt, three daughters Miss Myrtle Thompson of the home, Mrs. Silas Carroll of Illmo, Mrs. Don Caldwell of Cape Girardeau, 23 grandchildren; one brother, Louis Thompson of Delta; one sister, Mrs. Ike Harmon of Cape Girardeau; one half-brother, Otis Thompson of Cape Girardeau; two half-sisters, Mrs. Flossie Bollinger of Cape Girardeau and Mrs. Monroe Baker of Jackson.
