Age 94, formerly of Lawton - Memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Becker Funeral Home Chapel, Fletcher, formerly Robbins Funeral Home of Fletcher, with Bob Yowell of Tulsa, officiating.

Mrs. Vaughn died October 19, 2007 in Oakland, Nebraska. Inurnment will be in the Sterling Cemetery and the Elgin Cemetery.

She was born September 6, 1913 in Snyder, Oklahoma to Jacob Lee and Lizzie Mae (Guest) Lambert. She attended high school in Ada and Sterling where she was a medalist in track and played basketball. She married Noble Elmer Berryhill on January 12, 1937 in Elgin. Mr. Berryhill was killed in an accident on April 18, 1940.

After his death she attended Capitol Hill Beauty College in Oklahoma City before moving back to Elgin and opened her own beauty shop in her residence. She married Elbert Arlington Vaughn on June 14, 1943 in Chickasha. They lived in Elgin and Lawton for their married life. She worked in the gun shop at Fort Sill during World War II. Mr. Vaughn died March 5, 1988. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lawton where she sang in the Primetimers Choir.

Survivors include her daughter from her first marriage and son-in-law, Billye and Kenneth Pearson of Oakland, Nebraska; 3 grandchildren and their spouses, Cheryl and Dale Hunke of West Point, Nebraska, Marcy and Virg Schumacher of Gurley, Nebraska and Karla and Dave Reynolds of Omaha, Nebraska; 8 great grandchildren, Denise and husband Steve Dostal, Leslie Hunke, Bailye Geller, Hannah Geller, Emma Geller, Amanda Reynolds, Brad Reynolds and Brent Schumacher; a brother and sister-in-law, Denzille and Kathleen Lambert of Lawton; 2 sisters-in-law, Ruth Lambert of Sterling and Ione Berryhill of Tulsa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 5 sisters, Jewel, Pearl and Anevia, Peggy Landry and Margie Lee; and 3 brothers, Audie, Jim and Orville Lambert.
