TALLAHASSEE - Peggy Berryhill KING was born September 11, 1900, in Indian Territory. She died March 10, 1996.

Funeral services were held March 13 at Tallahassee Methodist Church, where she was a member. Rev. Sammy CHUPCO officiated the service. Pallbearers were Brett FREELAND, David HARDMAN, Allan HENSLEY, Richard MASON, Jack RAINS, and Clifford SHILLING. Honorary pallbearers were Darrell CLARK, Kelvin CLARK, Travis CLARK, Patrick FREELAND, and Taylor SHILLING. Interment was in tallahassee Cemetery.

She was an original allottee and had attended Nuyaka Mission and Eufaula Boarding School. She was blessed to see the resurrection of her church, Tallahassee Methodist, and attended some services when she could.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alec and Annie BERRYHILL; her husband, Caesar A. KING; eleven brothers and sisters; and two daughters.

She was survived by her son, Jackson KING of Muskogee; one daughter, Ann K. HARDMAN of Tahlequah; one sister, Mahalia CHALAKEE of Okmulgee; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
