Funeral for G. T. "Gladstone" Smith, 77, a retired carpenter who died Thursday in Southeastern General Hospital was conducted in Stephens Funeral Chapel by Rev. Lemuel Lawson and Rev. John Haas. Burial was in the Smith Family Cemetery.

He is survived by two sons, Horace and Boyd Smith both of Lumberton, one daughter, Mrs. Rosa Lee Britt of Lumberton, a brother, Les Smith of Lumberton, two sisters, Mrs. K.F. Haman of Lumberton and Mrs. Lillie Watts of Lumberton; thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Richard B. Britt, Reginald H. Dewayne and Jerry M., James N., and John H. Smith. Flowers were arranged by Mmes . Robbie Bolinger, Sue O'Tuel, Dorothy Leggette, Debbie Britt, Melba Floyd, Frances Cameron and Judy, Sarah and Lennie Smith.
