Ila Peterson, 84, of St. Johns died Dec. 27, 2003 in Mesa.
Ila was born April 19, 1919 in St. Johns to Joel and Zina Mineer. She lived her entire life in Arizona. She was married to Kenneth R. Pulsipher and together they had six children. Ila loved people and loved to serve. Friends and family remember that even before a need was spoken, she would arrive at a neighborís home offering to help.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and served six years as a temple worker at the Mesa Temple. She loved children and once told her daughter there was nothing more delightful than the laughter of children. She sewed and made all her children's clothing when they were growing up. She expressed her creativity in quilts and made many beautiful pieces that were shared with her family and friends.
Ila is survive by her husband Kenneth R. Pulsipher; daughters, Janell Reed, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Shirlene Peterson, Mesa, Vanita Oakes, Gilbert, Linda Fletcher, Maple Valley, Washington and JoAnn Posert, Mesa; son Ken Pulsipher, Jr., St. Johns; sister Lucinda Farr, Mesa; and brother, Lester Mineer, Mesa; 21 grandchildren; and 33 great grandchildren.
Her parents, one sister, and three brothers precede her in death.
Visitation is from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Downtown Chapel, in St. Johns. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be at the St. Johns Westside Cemetery.
