Myrtle M. Carter, age 80, of Georgia, formerly a resident of Bridgeport and Fairfield, CT for over 50 years, passed away after a long illness. She was born in Anniston, AL and was retired from Bullard Havens Regional Vocational Technical School, Bridgeport; where she was department head of hairdressing and cosmetology. She was also an active member of many civic and social organizations. She was predeceased by her husband, Glover L. Carter. Myrtle was survived by her daughter, Ann Echols, of Stone Mountain, GA; a grandaughter, Dawn Echols, of Palo Alto, CA; five sisters, Gladys Baldwin, Althea Fletcher (Lloyd), Helen Sherrod (Thomas), Antoinette Da Cruz (Frank), all of Bridgeport and Marcia Riley of Orlando, FL; one brother, James Marbury (Carole) of Stratford, CT and other relatives and friends. A Funeral Service was held at First Presbyterian Church of Fairfield.
