Yankton, South Dakota
Elisabeth Dreith
Elisabeth Dreith, wife of David Dreith, was born in Beideck, Volga Region,
Russia, on 5 May 1888 to the parents Heinrich and Maria Katharina Beideck. There
she was baptized and confirmed.
In 1910 she married her now mourning husband David Dreith which marriage was
blessed with ten children, one of whom, however, preceded the mother in death.
Shortly after their marriage, the family came to America and lived first in
Lincoln, Nebraska for several years. In 1913 they came to Loveland, where the
deceased lived until her end.
About three years ago Sister Dreith became ill, from which suffering she could
never recover again and especially in the last nine months suffered great pain.
She died blessed in the Lord on 8 July 1937 and reached an age of 49 years, 2
months and 3 days.
She is mourned by her husband David Dreith, her nine children: Marie, Lydia,
Alex, Wilhelm, Lenora, Charles, Harold, Helen and Betty; four grandchildren and
two brothers, Philipp Beideck in Lincoln and Heinrich Beideck in Denver. The
funeral took place on Saturday, July 10, in our church and found words of solace
in: “There remains therefore a rest to the people of God.” (Hebrews 4, 9)
