He was again exchanged at Aiken's Landing, James River, VA,on May 8, 1864. He was present and accounted for until he was admitted to the hospital at Richmond, VA, on October 1, 1864 ( Battle Fort Harrison), with a gunshot wound in the left shoulder. He was reported absent wounded through November 14, 1864.
