MRS. EDNA RUST, LYONS, IS DEAD; FUNERAL TODAY
Mrs. Edna Rust, 69, of Lyons, widow of James E. Rust, Sr., died Monday, April 29, at 10:45 p.m. at Flaget Memorial Hospital here. She had been ill about two months and at the hospital since April 20. After the death of her husband in July, 1941, Mrs. Rust operated a nursing home, at her residence at Lyons, caring for several patients at a time, until about six months ago. Mr. Rust, until his death, was employed at the L&N Railroad Shop, in Louisville. A native of Nelson County, born Edna Seward, Mrs. Rust was reared and always resided in the Lyons area. She was a member of the St. Catherine Altar Society at New Haven. Surviving are four sons, James E. Jr., Pleasure Ridge; Bernard, Henry and Charles, all of New Haven; three daughters, Mrs. Dan Sorrels, Pekin, Ind.; Mrs. William Robertson, Lyons; Mrs. Jack Vittitoe, New Haven; a sister, Mrs. Wardlow Slack, Buechel; a brother, Patrick Seward, New Haven; 58 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The body is at Greenwell Funeral Home, at New Haven. Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 10 a.m. in St. Catherine Church, at New Haven, with interment in the church cemetery.
