RAEFORD - Mrs. Burdette Hale Robbins, 91, of Raeford, died Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, in her home. Mrs. Robbins was a faithful member of Timberlake Church of God in Hope Mills, where she was a former Sunday school teacher. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister, and a friend to all. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, the Rev. William Howard Robbins; a son, Jack Robbins; a grandson, Jeffrey Robbins; and a son-in-law, David Arthur. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today, Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, in Timberlake Church of God, with the Rev. James Betts officiating. Burial will be in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street in Fayetteville. Visitation was Sunday at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Mrs. Robbins is survived by six sons, Charles Robbins and wife Renee of Florence, S.C., Bill Robbins of Raeford, Jim Robbins and wife Nancy of Fayetteville, David Robbins and wife Linda of Fayetteville, Ruben Robbins of Raeford and Lonnie Robbins and wife Betsy of Raeford; three daughters, Shirley Rapier and husband Andy of Madison, Ga., Sheila Rosemire and husband Jerry of Fayetteville, and Karen Arthur of Gray's Creek; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Robbins of Indiana; two brothers, Lawrence Hale of Fort Myers, Fla., and Bill Hale of Louisville Ky.; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Timberlake Church of God, 3515 Sturbridge Drive, Hope Mills, NC 28348. Services entrusted to Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home of Fayetteville.
