William served in 1814 in Bunch's Regiment of the TN Militia in the War of 1812. He bought 140 acres on Kindrick's Creek in Washington County, TN, on 4-15-1820 -- except for 1/8th acre, which was to be used as a cemetery. His will was recorded on 8-6-1838 in Washington County, TN.
