Mrs. Robbie Robison West, age 94 years, 4 months and 18 days of Lovelady, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2009 in the East Texas Medical Center-Crockett. Mrs. West was born on June 9, 1915 in Leon County, Texas, to James and Mattie Robison. They moved to Houston County when she was three years old and resided most times between Antioch and Pearson Chapel. She met and married J. B. West, who was a farmer in 1932 in the middle of the Great Depression. After J. B.'s retirement from Finger's Furniture in Houston, Texas, they moved back to Lovelady where they joined and became active in the First United Methodist Church which was just across the street from their home.
Survivors include her daughter Bonnye Schaefer and husband Vernon, of Lovelady; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband J. B. West; and sons Jessie Bevin West, Charlie Doyle West and Ricky Joe West. Funeral Services for Mrs. Robbie Robison West were held Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Doug Howell officiating. Interment followed in the Lovelady Antioch Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Robbie requests donations be made to the First United Methodist Church in Lovelady. Callaway-Allee Funeral Home
