Evelyn G. Young Malloy 88, formerly of Ackerman, MS, now of Memphis, TN, passed away October 26, 2009. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church for 24 years and attended Community Bible Study for 14 years. She was married to Charles E. Young Sr., for 36 years and widowed in 1978. Later at age 74, she married George W. Malloy in 1996 until his death in 2002. Evelyn was a resident of Kirby Pines Estates since 1984. She was a graduate of William and Mary, VA, with further education at Blue Mountain and University of Southern Mississippi. Mrs. Malloy retired after 21 years of teaching elementary education. She is survived by her two sons, Ralph Hendrix Young and wife Laura from Knoxville, TN and Charles E. Young, Jr., and wife Sylvia of Collierville, TN. Two grandchildren Leigh Ann Young and Chase Young of Collierville, TN. Visitation will be Friday, October 30, from 11-12 p.m. with a service to follow at 12 p.m. both at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel. Interment will be in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Corinth, MS. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Caritas Village, French Camp, MS or to Parkinson's Foundation.
