Married Roseanna Rushing in Union County NC January 14, 1848-Wounded and captured in Silver Spring Maryland-tansferred to Lincoln General Hospital in Washington DC where he died two days later from gangrene-Buried there in a soldiers burial ground-His body was then moved to Arlington National Cemetery and then to the Confederate section of the Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh NC-There is a Confederate marker for him at Zion United Methodist Church cemetery.
