Unknown when he died. He died after his wife did in March 1884 and before the 1900 census. Up until 1885 he gave permission for each of his children to be married. In Nov 1885 my ancester Christopher gave permission for his brother Jacob to get married. So I beleive that Archibald died before November 1885, most likely in Vinton County and the death was never recorded--like so many other deaths in the Brooks family during that time. The stone was laid by descendants on July 8, 2007. There is one long line of indentions in the ground where Brooks family members are said to be buried. He married Annis Emeline Drain July 4, 1846 in Athens County, Ohio. They had 8 children: Lovisa Jane, George Washington, Amanda Estella, Martha, Christopher Columbus, Archabald, Lydia Ann, Jasper Milton, Jacob McClellan, & Samantha.
