Jan 17, 1855: "Departed this life on Thursday the 11th Januar y 1855, Captain Richard Green of Waccamaw, after a few days illness; aged about 78 years, leaving a large number of relatives and friends to mourn his departure. He was respected and esteemed by all who knew him as an honest hospitable man, a kind husband, a fond father and humane master". J. B.J./
