From the Marshall Paper, 31 October 1913.
On last Saturday evening Charles Cassada, Sandy Mush, shot and killed Garland Teague of the same section. We have been informed that the difficulty arose over some colts that were feeding on Cassada's pasture. The colts belonged to the Teague people. The shot took effect in Teague's heart and he died instantly. He was buried Tuesday.
Sheriff Buckner was called to the scene on Tuesday..............
