She was the daughter of Benjamin & Hannah (Roberts) Holme. A marriage license was issued to Jonathan Borden and Martha Holme on 25 March 1754.They were parents of nine children during their 15 years of marriage. 4 children were dead and their names unknown when Jonathan penned his will. When Martha died in 1793,she was survived by only 3 children, 2 sons and one daughter. Joseph being the first child named in the will received the largest share of Jonathan's property which included the family home. Samuel (Jonathan, Jonathan, Benjamin, Richard)Borden) was the last son born 12 Sept. 1758 and was 11 years old when his father died. Jonathan (Jonathan, Jonathan, Benjamin, Richard)was the last son to be named in the will bequeathed land purchased from Jacob Sly. Her second husband was George White with whom she lived only nine months and had one daughter with him. After 12 years of widowhood she was in December 1782 ,married with our late Brother Henry Murphy who left her the 25th November 1791 the third time a widow.
