Alexander II died in 1836, and Isabella immigrated to the United States in the early 1860s, as did sons James and Alexander III. They settled in West Albany Township, Wabasha County, Minnesota, and she lived there until her death.
The family was Scottish Presbyterian and likely attended the Presbyterian Church in West Albany Township. Isabella was living with son Alexander III and his family in 1865, and by 1870 had moved in with her son James and his family.
