Lived most of his life near Knoxville, where he was a Justice of the Peace 1813-1821. After the Civil war, Peter moved with his daughter and family, Henry Talbot & Lucy Nance Cox, to Atlanta, Georgia. Peter is buried next to his granddaughter, Henrietta L. Cox #77190057. According to Franklin Garrett, Peter Nance is the earliest born individual (1775) of all the residences of Oakland Cemetery.
