ANCIENT GRAVE MARKER
South of Jersey Shore is an old, abandoned cemetery, a lonely stone marker stands at the head of a grass covered grave. It reads as follows:
Sacred to the memory of James McMurray born in Ireland June 11,1784 emigrated to America in 1799, was converted to God in 1829, united with the M E Church, the husband of 3 wives, father of 22 children, 18 living, grandfather of 82 & great grandfather of 38 who died in Jersey Shore, April 11, 1853 in great peace & triumph being a resident of the County where he exchanged earth for heaven.

Church the husband of three wives, father of 22 children, 18 living, grandfather of 82 and great-grandfather of 38, who died in Jersey Shore Apr. 11, 1853 in great peace & triumph, being 64 yrs a resident of the country whence he exchanged earth for heaven; stone broken and not readable.
